    Crawley....wot no thread?

I'm away in the northeast at the moment so missed the match today. Can someone give feedback on how the game went. My constant glances at BBC Sport gave the impression the game followed this season's usual pattern, except we actually scored in the second half and they didn't. I notice Rio was overlooked as LB once again!

First of all, Rios been out for nearly 10 months and had 45 minutes at U21 level. Would be foolish in the extreme to even think of starting him yet.
Poor standard of game, but we found a way to win. Clinical finish from CBR after two great tackles by King. Strong defensive performance esp from the centre halves and one blinding save from young Arthur. Absolutely woeful refereeing performance.
All in all, hard work but a very welcome 3 points.

Hopefully, that'll reawaken our guys onto a winning run. Regardless of the quality of the match, the three points are very welcome (missed the game too. Crewe Rail Ale Festival this weekend).

The refereeing thing seems to be a constant.

But on this occasion by the first woman ref I've seen at a League game! Sadly, as you'd hope the few who appear would be the cream, she was woeful. Sambou shoved over a yard outside their box with a hand in the back and ball in front of him, not even a yellow card, but we got the two yellows there were, for virtually nothing. At least the Crawley player who clearly dived (not very well) didn't get a free kick, but he should have been booked as he clutched his ankle.

It was a fast, end to end game, until they looked to be settling for a point (till they were putting us under late pressure hunting an equalizer). Interestingly not only was Rio naturally an unused sub, Zac Williams was also on the bench, till he came on as a 3rd CH in the final minute, so with Tariq at LB throughout, and Charlie Finney also unused, we had 4 LBs (real and temporary) in the 18! One late scare from Arthur, who was otherwise good, but kept his 4th clean sheet.

Interesting that with returning players, Finney senior no longer makes the subs bench .....

Had no idea - and didn't see him - from an U-21 game? Fortunately he's not as missed as poor Chris Long.
