Plenty of great electric guitar players since but still no-one quite like him, don't think there ever will be.

Hendrix is one of my favourite guitar players but I remember many (many!) years ago and I'd asked for one of his records for a birthday present and my dad played it first to check it out for some reason and he heard all this feedback and thought the l.p.was faulty until my brother told him otherwise!😀

A rather good line up for that night too! I'm rather jealous Soulman-although I would have been just a tad too young to have seen him myself then😀

(Nice to see that the night was also sandwiched inbetween such stellar performers such as Mrs Mills and Sooty&Sweep at the venue too!)

I saw him few weeks previously at the IOW. Well I didn't actually because I was fast asleep. After how many days it was of music my mate and I were exhausted and we fell asleep. We were woken by the cheering and shouting when he had finished. I was told he wasn't very good.

I was at Bilston college when he passed away, a few weeks later and Janis Joplin passed away too.

I missed the chance to see him at the Royal Albert Hall with a couple of mates in 1969. They said the only other live performance that probably bettered it in their opinion was The Who, and I missed that one too.

I saw the original Who three times. Bruce Springs**** is the best live performer I have seen but the Who run him very close. Of other live acts I have seen there is one who really impressed me and who I just chanced upon, Jethro Tull.

I saw Jethro Tull around 1971 with Procol Harum. Both were excellent. I saw Springs**** in 1986 (I think it was) on July 4th American Independence Day (and my wife's birthday) at Wembley. Glad I got to see the band with Clarence. I really miss seeing live bands although I did see one last week. Hurray For The Riff Raff at the Hare and Hounds Kings Heath. Very good. First band I have seen for about 7 years.
