Amongst all of the anachronistic nonsense of the last ten days, the devotion and dedication of Princess Anne shone through like a beacon of decency, I admire her authenticity.

I really admired the young guardsmen in the bearer party, they were magnificent given the responsibility they had. I can imagine them, when they'd finally got it done and went behind the scenes at Windsor, they must have chucked themselves into the nearest chairs and said, 'Thank god for that, where's them fecking tinnys'.

The lead lined coffin allegedly weighed around 600lbs.

A fantastic event, celebrating a wonderful queen, I enjoyed watching it all.

I was confused about the uniform / morning suite issue. What I do not understand is how the two royals who had served in a time of conflict were not allowed to wear their military uniforms while some others, who only held honorary rank were allowed to wear military uniform.

We now have a vindictive head of state V_C, all of the Clarence House staff have already been given redundancy notices and the 300-household staff who were bowing and curtseying on the lawns of Windsor get their P45's on Friday.

Our new King removed the ER epaulettes from his son Harry's uniform before the lad attended his grandmother's vigil. W@nker. Serving God, country and queen means nowt for our new Chump.

Agreed sinkov, it would be a fantastic gesture from Charlie if all eight of them got one promotion each this morning.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you BT, our new head of state does not appear to have inherited his mother's compassion. Sending out redundancy notices immediately after his mother's death was extremely insensitive.

I am also concerned with the influence the "Royal Trollope" may now have.

It is also concerning that we do not have anyone who may be capable of leading our nation within the house of commons. I think that "Thick Lizzy" may turn out to be more decisive than Thatcher if that is possible.

I do fear for the future of my grandchildren who will almost certainly be paying for these policies for many years to come,

I have no idea about the veracity of what my own dearly departed mother once claimed that Charlie was not allowed to marry Camilla because she was not deemed to be a virgin.

If that was true it didn't turn out at all well for the "People's Princess" did it.
