Labour MP Rosie Cooper has taken a job as chair of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and thus resigned as an MP.

I am expecting the Conservatives to easily take this seat. After all the Labour majority in this seat at the 2019 General Election was 8,336 and the Labour percentage of the vote was 52% in a contest of 4 candidates.

Obviously the Conservative government has done exceptionally well since Boris Johnson became Prime Minister on 24th July 2019. Given the likelihood of the Conservatives betraying a Manifesto pledge this will help a lot.

I am extremely confident that in this by-election the Conservative candidate will romp home. So Jeremy Corbyn, stick that in your Russian gas pipe and smoke it.
