Was any question asked about who at Barnsley FC signed off the Hex deal and what due diligence took place ?

Loko, the Supporter's Trust leader, said it was an "important" issue which should be raised. (See Post 10 on Shambles Forum thread).

Did he, or anyone else, press the matter and get an informative response ?

Yes - there was an in-depth discussion about it.
JAQ best summed it up when she said ‘we made a big mistake’.

The reason I try to get to these directors / supporters meetings is this.

In my opinion - what happens in the boardroom is far more important than what is happening on the field.

If the team is doing well but the boardroom is weak then eventually what is happening on the field will fail.

If the boardroom is strong but the team is weak - then it’s only a matter of time before things on the field starts to improve.

A club is only as good as it’s boardroom.

    Neerav.
The club will move away from being totally reliant on the strategy of buying young players and developing them.

JAQ and Neerav described how they became involved at Barnsley.

Paul Conway was the conduit who clearly did the rounds trying to find interested parties.
Conway did a great job signing up JAQ and Neerav.

So JAQ and Neerav jumped at the opportunity of getting involved in English football.
It’s hassle for them trying to sort out the problems - and it’s costing them money.
    And they love it !!!
They are so enthusiastic and positive about what they have inherited at Barnsley.
A pleasure to be in their company.

Stood talking to Jean most of the time.
    First time I’ve met her.
We were probably at Wombwell High at the same time - but she’s a bit older than me so we didn’t know each other at that time.

Jean is the BEST of BARNSLEY.
    Truly a lovely woman.
You couldn’t wish to meet a nicer person.

Yes we all know it was a mistake Nudge.

But who signed off the deal and was there any due diligence done before signing ?

Yes - there was, what they thought at the time, adequate due diligence.
    Obviously there wasn’t enough.
They thanked the supporters for bringing issues to their attention.

To be honest this is a topic I haven’t taken much notice of.
They signed up a sponsor - which was found to be a wrong move.
The club immediately dropped the sponsor and apologised.
    There’s no dispute.
    The club realises their mistake.
    We move on.

Doesn't really answer any of the questions.

Who signed off the deal ? Who is being protected from disclosure ? We can only speculate.

What was the broad nature of this less than adequate due diligence ? A glance at the Hex website ? Taken in by Hex adverts ? How was it possible that fans were able to point out the error within hours.

"We move on" means we will sweep the matter under the carpet as I suspected it would be.
