Tarkowski and Coady have sorted out the Everton defensive problem, both have been capped for England but don't get a look in. Southgate should have been booted after we failed to win the Euros at Wembley.

Why on earth another minute's silence and black arm bands? Brenda has been dead for nearly three weeks and is now lying under a slab in Windsor.

Bellingham and Rice look to be the very best of what England can provide, both of them are having blinders.

Sterling would not score on "Grab a Granny Night" at Burnley Mecca, he's missed two from two.

Our only consolation is that the Germans are not any better.

At least the England fans won't have long to hang around in Qatar.

What a difference having a left back playing at left back makes, but I think everyone in the country knew that, except Gareth apparently. And everyone in the country knew Maguire was an accident waiting to happen, except Gareth apparently. And again, to no one's surprise I'm sure, Sterling is hooked and suddenly the ball is ending up in the German onion bag with amazing regularity, although I expect this will have escaped Gareth's notice as well.

I was really impressed with Bellingham, no doubt Southgate will play Mount instead.

He looks something special doesn't he, just hope he stays fit and trains on, so many talented players at his age don't. Dele Ali for instance.

He's built like the proverbial brick $hit house too, a wonderful player I heard he's off to Liverpool.

How refreshing to watch England Under 21 v Germany Under 21 last night.
Only a friendly, however, both teams wanted to win and it was very refreshing to see attacking football being played instead of the proliferation of backwards and sideways passing we see with the senior team.
England deservedly won 3-1 after conceding the first goal and were lucky not to concede another with trying to play the ball out from the back, the keeper was very lucky, however, he will not be criticised because he has not taken holy orders!
