    Keeping Howe

Newcastle management are thinking England could come calling for him after the World Cup.

To keep Wor Ed happy where he is he has been given more responsibility in future projects instead of just being First Team Coach.Future Training Ground development is just one area mentioned for him to have more say.

He's here for the long term, I think.

    England can get fucked.

I would think his overall credit would improve by staying here rather than the risky job of managing the National team.

In my younger days the England international games were top notch and looked forward to as much as the Toon games.

Also then the prestige was immense for a manager to take on the England squad. Today it's totally different interest wise for fans and managers, who are usually better off with their clubs.

The only ones who still like an England callup seem to be the players.

Previously England matches were an event, '96 was quality.

Howe won't leave, period. Its too early for him first of all, second the owners will spend big on Jan to reinforce his position.

Just not the right time. In 5-7 yrs as Newcastle manager after he's won the FA Cup, gained UCL experience and challenged for the title he'll be ready for the England Job.

Not mention his age. He's very young. The man is full on, 6 am starts, 12+ hr days international football doesn't have the intensity to which Eddie is addicted.

    Food for thought.

At Newcastle or any major club, a manager is 6 consecutive defeats away from the sack (even though Brendan and Cabbage have been testing that theory)

Managing England, a manager is only ever one game away from a full-on press insurrection.

EH can think about this 10-20 years from now. In the meantime, he can earn plenty here and enjoy football more. Now would be career suicide. Surely the great British press want Potter more. Oops.

"Never say never" for the England job, just not now. Said Eddie Howe in latest press conference.
