When decisions are made based on ideology rather than immediate need then the wheels fall off. I thought that Boris was a car crash but Truss is a multi vehicle pile-up.
Let's not be greedy, that will suffice. If that happens in all 650 constituencies in the General Election it will be satisfactory.

Yes.Its worse than that, its a Russian convoy trying to invade Kiev. The conservative brains are fried in butter with shallots. VIVA Labour.
Joking apart, Frank, the Tories would be doing better with Sunak as leader. He had more prudent and above all costed plans that wouldn’t have been perfect but at least wouldn’t have spooked the markets. Instead the 200,000 members wanted another Thatcher and Truss was female, played the part and made the right noises - so she’s what we got. They should be ashamed.
Another aspect of why the members would not have Sunak is that his resignation was the first and decisive blow against Johnson. No matter how bad the leader the person who triggers his / her downfall does not become leader.
At the age of 42 Sunak has 15 years to be a strong leadership contender. The party rarely appoints a new leader who is older than 57, Theresa May being one exception. When Sunak is in his late fifties there will be several 'bright, young things' in the running.

Electoral Calculus General Election Prediction based on opinion polls from 01 Sep 2022 to 29 Sep 2022, sampling 19,161 people.
Con 168, Lab 388, SNP 51, Lib Dem 19, Green 1, SNP 51, Plaid C 4, DUP 8, Sinn Fein 7, SDLP 2, Alliance 1, Other 1
Labour majority of 126
It is slightly worse than that for the Opposition. The likely 7 Sinn Fein MPs will never take the Oath Of Allegiance to The King. Thus they will not be allowed into The House Of Commons main chamber and voting chambers. This reduces the total Opposition voting power by 7 and increases the Labour majority voting power from 126 to 133.
