Callum Wilson has signed new contract at Newcastle. 2yr deal + option to extend further based on various factors
Great news let’s hope he stays fit

Hopefully we won't be relying on him so much in the future like we have done in recent seasons

Fantastic player, but too injury prone. Like Isak, apparently.

Aye a good lad to lead the line and a good pro for the influx of young to quality we are bringing.

Having him around the likes of Isak, Anderson, Willock shows how our performances improve. That confidence in the field comes from his together on the training ground.

Can’t complain about this - he’s 30 but still fast and agile when fit and no longer the only striker in the club. Should help us reach the next level whilst the team becomes less reliant on him so hopefully his injury-related availability will improve. Would cost big money to replace with a younger alternative so makes a lot of sense.

    Good stuff.

He won't be our number one striker come the Summer, you'd think. If Isak is a wide forward* then we'll need a younger, less injury-prone main man.

*in fairness, I don't know enough about Isak to say that for sure-he might well be the direct replacement.
