    The 'Pheonix' Bury AFC

Tonight Bury AFC got through to the 4th (final) Qualifying Round of the FA Cup. Technically the original Bury club still exists, the supporters' association seems to control it, though it is not trading.

Perhaps someone could explain in what manner the original club still exists. Presumably it has no assets. It seems that a recent attempt to merge the two entities and play at Gigg Lane failed.

So there seem to be 3 entities :-
Steve Dale owns the original football club, in administration, which seems to be not trading, has no assets and has changed its name.
Gigg Lane Stadium Limited (original supporters association), which owns all the assets of the original club including the right to use the name 'Bury Football Club'.
    The 'pheonix' club Bury AFC.

BDB I am about to use the link.
