    Women's game

I can't get too enthused about it after the Women's World Champions USA were beaten 5-2 by Dallas under 15s boys team
I understand the reasons for diversity but TV sport go over the top with it.

They announced that an English woman's striker had beaten Jimmy Greaves goal scoring record for the England team.
Until the day comes that women are playing alongside and against men in the Premiership then don't compare them to one of the greatest strikers to play at the top level in England.

At 14 year old I watched Jimmy demolish the Toon at SJP we were thumped 6-0 and I think he scored 5 of them, that was when he was at Chelsea and an under 23 player.

...for me the novelty had worn off.

Fair play to them but at the end of the day the game lives and dies at a club level and the crowd it attracts.

Might watch the odd world cup game but thats it.

I'm not interested in qualifiers or friendlies but will probably watch the women's world cup next year, or at least some of it.

I'll be keeping an eye on NUFC women though, Amanda says she wants to get them to the WSL. I think they'll be playing at St.James' again soon so it'll be interesting to see the attendance

The way its rammed down everyones throats is the problem and yes comparing mens scoring records to womens is a joke but the box tickers love to spout rubbish.

That Greaves comparison is ridiculous. But if you don't want to watch it, don't. Who's forcing you?

    this is 100% the truth

i dont have any interest in the womens game at all, i saw the goals from the USA v Engerland match... **** me, if thats the best the world has to offer, id rather go and watch Darlo reserves.

They will go over the top as standard until everyone switches off. Ultimately, the womens game is ****, yet the tv companies ram it down our throats so they look good , if they put every mens football game and every womens football game on pay per view, guess who wouldnt make a penny?

When I am watching Sky Sports for pre match or post match reports it is interrupted by the Women's game, the only way not to get it is to stop watching sports channels altogether.

    Agreed.

I don't mind watching the odd game but I dislike the ramming.
