    Swans v Sunderland

Let’s savour until Saturday at least the dizzy heights of a top six place after two great away wins.
All in contrast to a few weeks ago when we were hovering around the relegation places.
Its no coincidence that our run of form started with Benda replacing Fisher in goal and a tweak of tactics. Now we do not dominate possession so much and are harder to beat. There are still flashes of our previous vulnerability at the back, but we are a work in progress in that department and look to be slowly getting there.
On to the next match tomorrow and we’re at home to Tony Mowbray’s Sunderland. Mowbray was appointed at the end of August when Alex Neil, who had just got the Mackems promoted, decided to move on to Stoke.
Sunderland sit in 8th place, just a point behind us, and are doing very well since promotion. They’ve drawn their last 3 matches and are tight defensively, conceding only three goals in their last 6 games. Their best away result so far was a 0-3 win at third place Reading.

Travel weary Swans faded second half after a dominant display first half, where we took a two goal lead.
When the Black Cats scored after six minutes of the the restart we knew we had a fight on our hands. But the Swans are made of tougher stuff these days and we saw out the game. Sunderland were frustrated and picked up five bookings as they became more and more desperate to score. It was not be as the Swans held on.
We remain in sixth place on 21 points, three points behind leaders Sheff Utd, who lost 3-1 at Stoke, in this tight division this season.
Five wins from the last six matches, something to celebrate.

A good win against strong and determined opposition.

A great run we’re on boys, kudos to the players stamina, three games in seven days and all the travelling.
Three points off the top but Cardiff are only three points behind us and such a tight Championship so far this season, a few defeats and we’re back down the bottom, so let’s not get carried away.
Some tough matches to come too, fourth place Burnley away next Saturday and fifth place Reading at home the following Tuesday.

Sad day for us, Swans torn apart with their naive game plan.
