If it is anything like England then just about nothing that gets referred to it will be clear cut, and will just add another layer of subjectivity to every decision, whilst taking away the joy and spontaneity of the spectacle. All the same guys such as David Moyes that complained constantly about referees and the need to get VAR now just spend all their time complaining about VAR.

Generally, now correct decisions are made though. The goal City got chalked off yesterday for instance, Haaland pulled the boy over by the shirt in the build up. BTW, I've no time for Liverpool but it was right.

Will mistakes be made? Of course but it'll be better I think.

I agree that it will be better.I think that in the games not involving the Old Firm VAR will be used quite often and probably over a whole season will benefit every team equally. However when the other teams play the Old Firm many of the incidents in and around there penalty area will never be checked. I would highlight the Jamie McGrath tackle at Ibrox as an example. The VAR official would deem it " not a clear and obvious error" and play would continue. Had McGrath made the tackle in our box however it would be reviewed.

This is going to be an interesting few weeks or so. Do hope we have learned from down south.

Have been softening on my previous absolute hatred of VAR so hopefully won't send me backwards again.

Has in fairness been running in the background of a lot of games. Hope they are feeling confident with it. Young lad was involved in a tournament where it was being trialled. Was able to see the room and see them use it in real time. Said it did look really good and they seemed to be getting the balance of intervention pretty nicely at that time and at that level.

Hopefully holds true in the professional game but I have my doubts. Would sooner goal line technology was in place first, much more relevant and definitively objective. Guess we have to be in line with other leagues though

Not a fan of var, some of the pens that get given that are never pens but slowed down look like there was the slightest touch but not enough to cause a foul ruins the game for me

Can only see this going badly overall

Would VAR have overturned that penalty decision last night? Those pens were given previously but I thought the rules had been changed to protect a player who can't get out of the way of a shot and hasn't made a clear hand/arm movement towards the ball.

It should overturn that but would it? I have a worry that VAR is going to be an utter ckusterfk. Hope I'm wrong by the way.

Hard to tell. It comes down to the opinion of the officials I guess. Honestly I don't think it would be overturned BUT it was never a pen in a million years. ☹️

Not sure if Scotland is in rule step with England but if a ref gives that in England he'll be asked to go and look at the pitch side monitor. There's no way Liam Smith can get out of the way and he's not attempting to change the direction of the shot. Clancy deary me. Potentially changes the whole outcome because if we then go and score the first goal it's Kilmarnock that are then forced to respond and there's no guarantee they would have. Complete joke.
Not saying we would have gone on to win, but....

Arrogant arse, but that's what we're dealing with here. Good to know he thinks two wrongs make right, phuckme. I think it's true that top level referees in Scotland aren't full time which is astonishing in this day and age.
