    Swansea v Wigan

It’s hard to take when you lose after a winning run. It’s seems that there’s an elementary mistake from our defence in every game and it’s got a lot to do with our system of play. The good run started when we adjusted our set up and varied our play to not continually play the ball out from the back, sometimes hoofing it when needed instead of being caught in possession. Last two games we seem to have reverted to type again.
Next up at home on Saturday are newly promoted Wigan, who after a fine start are struggling at the moment with five straight defeats. Their latest on Wed night, a 0-1 reverse at home to Stoke. We meet up again with former player, 29 year-old winger Gwion Edwards from Lampeter, a Swans Academy product for seven years he left in 2014 to join Crawley Town.

    The team

Swans: Steven Benda, Nathan Wood, Ben Cabango, Joel Latibeaudiere (c), Armstrong Oko-Flex, Jay Fulton, Ollie Cooper, Ryan Manning, Luke Cundle, Joel Piroe, Michael Obafemi.
Subs: Andy Fisher, Harry Darling, Olivier Ntcham, Jamie Paterson, Fin Stevens, Kyle Naughton, Matty Sorinola.

    Swans 2 (Manning, Piroe pen) - Wigan 2 (Keane 8’, Naylor 16’)
Sorry guys missed this match, can’t remember the last home match I missed, somewhat luckily from reports.
Third game in a row where we go behind, twice to rally and get a draw.
Our form that brought us those wins has gone, we have a vulnerable defence and can barely score a goal.
Same pattern from every team we play, they press high, we make mistakes at the back and concede, opposition shut shop and we are incapable of breaking them down.
This match a particularly bad result because Wigan were in free fall with five straight defeats, third from bottom, and we were at home.

Have our players got the skill to play the way Martin wants us to play.
We have seen such elementary errors in defence that are park football standard, it makes you wonder what the defensive coach is doing in training. Even head-coach Martin who was a top defender in his playing career.
Martin is half way through his second season with us and I don’t see any improvement.
Was the recent run of wins a fluke?

Frustrating to watch lately when we concede poor goals.
It seems we are always chasing games after individual errors through the opposition’s high press.
