I didn’t actually. ‘Pestering’? Is that another word for politely challenging your, imo, very highhanded decision and giving you the best part of a day to respond?

You're wrong about 'duplicate'/overlapping threads though, I've deleted maybe twenty since I became mod. I'm also mod elsewhere and do similar. The evidence of maybe the last six pages of the thread do provide clear evidence that the thread had been 'hijacked' into a Brexit thread and we already have one, that's duplication

Regretably the 'putting the world to rights' threads have brought out the worst in us, as they do throughout social media, and there's no point having multiple threads showing the world (and potential new/returning posters) how infantile/bitter/intractible we can be, especially when such spats spill over into footy/other sporting threads, see macs comment last week

Regarding your skinning of the cat, I get the feeling that the cat stayed unskinned, your new political thread has degenerated (I think deliberately) into a bit of idle chatter on all sorts. Whether thats because people would rather talk footy/sport than politics on a footy forum I don't know. I do know there's been a couple of times I've been tempted recently to offer a response to one of Ramshank's very sensible posts and have just thought 'what's the point, I'm not going to change closed minds, stick to sport'
