Did the players know Gerrard was going to be fired?

I was just thinking, that Brentford game, that Fulham debackle and then Dougie signing that contract, he stalled for a long time and then suddenly decided "he loves this club" I liken it to where I am working now, I like many others are looking for new work because of the controlling micro managing sadist of an MD but if he should go, we would all be happier to stay! Just like Gerrard going, there is talk of our MD going due to us being bought by another company, infact one of our rivals, I'm hoping, as they are German, they get rid asap!
Back on track, I am also hearing that as well as Mings not get on with Gerrard but also Watkins, I heard they had a big fall out....something tells me there are plenty of stories to come out once the dust has settled. Anyone else heard anything?

I think the writing has been on the wall for Gerrard since those tepid performances in the first few games, so yes the players knew it was a question of when not if.
