Whilst it is true that those with aspergers generally (and the spectrum is so broad it is unfair to claim otherwise) find it hard to relate to others socially- as they find reading body language/verbal communication for example difficult- and appear to show lack of empathy it is very unusual for them to behave in an egotistical way. As a rule they also relate well with animals and, whilst they may not "understand" people, are rarely nasty to them even though they may come across as abrupt or rude to others due to their lack of social awareness.

Jon Ronson's "Psychopath" book is worth a read and clearly shows that many of those at the top of their game (in whatever field) frequently show psychopathic tendencies. These include narcissism, egotism and lack of empathy.They may initially come across as charming but this is merely a ruse to use others to enable their progress up the slippery pole. Might be very bright, gifted and exceptionally focused on their goals -but not very nice people.

Maybe the likes of Musk and Bezos share both AS and psychopathic traits?

I finally watched the 3 part documentary about him on the BBC last night and it didn't really tell me anything I didn't know, which he hasn't actually invented anything himself other than a restaurant funded website and got the boot from PayPal (which he didn't invent).

He bought rockets from Russia and used the that tech to develop his own rockets.

The bloke is a narcissistic and the s hitshow we are seeing with twitter shows this.

I can respect someone like Zuckerberg, as he actually invented Facebook, but Musk just identifies companies that are underachieving or don't know their true potential.

I also suspect his relationship with his mother is more than platonic.
