    Birmingham v Swansea

Birmingham and Huddersfield away left and then the World Cup break.
Swans need a re-set after a dip in the fine form that saw us shoot up the table. Unfortunately we are now going the other way, down to 9th and sinking. We are conceding soft goals and scoring goals has dried up, two points from nine last three matches against mediocre opposition tells the story.
Why are the team so inconsistent? Being one of the youngest squads in the Championship and still learning, we are told. Okay, but fans want to see wins and points on the board, not a stubborn manager still pushing his system of play when it doesn’t work, and when the opposition has sussed how to play against it.
Birmingham on Tuesday night will be a big test. They’ve just beaten Stoke away last game, a tough place to go, and they will have their tails up.
Swans will have Matt Grimes back although I’m not sure we missed him too much last Saturday.
The way things are we’ll do well to get anything from this match.

The Swans have conceded first in five of their last six games.
Birmingham have only two defeats from ten games at home.
Swans have just three wins from their nine away games and only one clean sheet but surprisingly are just two points adrift of the play-offs.
Birmingham will leapfrog us in the table if they win tonight.

Iolo, yet on a positive note Swans Official says:

“Russell Martin's side have lost just two of their last 10 games to put themselves firmly in the play-off picture as the World Cup break approaches.”

    FT 2-2
Conceded after 12mins, pulled one back through Ntcham, then Grimes scores in first half injury time.
Second half disappointing, invited them on us and fold in the last minute.

Frustration all round, but why was the experienced Deeney left unmarked from a corner?

We must sort out our defending if we are to do anything this season.
What did sub Sorinola bring to the party, too lightweight, non-tackling, non-producing player when trying to defend a lead, and taking Wood off when we were battling against big forwards.
