A win is a win and can only help confidence. It also puts us into the last six****. A number of Premiership teams have gone out so with a favourable draw we could be looking at a decent cup run. The next round will be the new managers first game.

With both sides last evening playing a number of squad players, it was the two goal keepers who will have done their reputation no harm at all. Sarkic made three superb saves inside the first few minutes and only the Leeds keeper will know how he kept out Connor Ronan's flick in the second half. Both Connor and Hodge acquitted themselves very well and Rayon Ait-Nouri had a very good game making many good tackles. Ronan does take a mean set piece and some of his corners were superb. last evening.

The game, while not a classic was competitive, and the result could have gone either way. Boubacor Traore took his goal well and didn't he celebrate! Only young he could prove to be a very useful player for us going forward. It will be interesting to see what the new coaching staff thought of the performance.

Just the small matter of getting three points against Arsenal on Saturday evening now.

As I type Connor Coady has just been named in the World cup squad. Congratulations to him.

Excellent post George. You could teach some of those waste-of-space journalists a thing or two!
