I loved having big Joe as our goalie, wish we had him a season or two earlier than we did.

Was the best goalkeeper in Scotland for a few years.

Don't remember much about him from when he played up there, but hopefully does the business

Good news about Joe? Was brilliant when he first arrived but has sadly regressed, shame his last run was probably our worst in memory

Also good to get a hefty wage off the book, think he had a year left?

Still a bit light - keep em coming....

Now been announced that Joe Lewis has left Aberdeen, with a year remaining on his contract, but no mention of him retiring.

Wouldn't surprise me to see him between the sticks for either Killie or Dundee.

    I doubt it.
He looked like he had lost the plot completely.

Came across as a decent enough bloke, so all the best to him.

    Never a captain though.

I would imagine he will rock up somewhere, probably enlandshire, as a goalkeeping coach next season

I suspect the captaincy brings with it an additional contract payment, and McInnes used this as an inducement to Joe to sign a surprisingly-long contract at the time, when his form presumably made him a signing target for others.

Good luck min, you did us proud.

    Gone very quiet hasn't it?

We must be now looking at a load of second choices.

Whoever signs now missed the Portugal trip and is missing pre season training.

I accept some of these things drag on, but it's unusual for the ones that drag on to end up signing.

I read somewhere that Hearts two main targets have signed for Middlesbrough.
We are just not able to compete with the inflated salaries over the border.

Don't want us signing players just to make up numbers.

I have a feeling that it will be loans that supplement our squad.
