A happy day - a signing with ambition behind it.

Jim and Bobby’s love child to boot.

It’s likely to have been £1 Million plus, in my view. It’s immaterial to a large extent - bargain-basement shopping is sheer folly as the likes of Clarkson will contribute to the club, performance-wise, and he will undoubtedly make us money too when he goes, even with Liverpool’s likely sell-on percentage. It’s essential to bring on young prospects and to speculate to accumulate. Cormack I believe realises that … just look at what McRorie, Ramsay, Ferguson and others have done recently and the funds they’ve brought into the Club. We really need more of this to survive and god-knows we might even flourish in the future!? We really have to build on our recent reputation of developing young players as that’s the only way that we can be remotely competitive.

Brilliant business by the board. By the board I mean Dave McCormack.
Previous board members would not have followed this one through or splashed the cash and told us we just cannot financially compete etc etc
But all credos to Leighton for choosing us over other teams where he would have been on a higher wage
He knows what a great club we are and its now run as a proper club with the best supporters in Scotland
    Happy Days ahead

I just read it was a low six figure fee spread over the four years.

Does this point towards some sort of deeper agreement with Liverpool?
