    League 1

Been giving this one a bit of thought. Last time we were in this league ( 2012-13) we crushed most opponents every week. I will concede that we were a better team then. Lyle and Clark scoring the goals, Carmichael's trickery and Mitchell's pin point delivery destroying opponents . Having said we were better, I dont think this current team are any slouches in the ability department either. The main problem - so far- being inconsistency and the fitness of Ian Wison. When he plays we are generally better. Finally, I think the standard of this League is better than it was in 12-13 also. Teams look far more competitive than I can recall. Anyone else agree with these points ?

It’s definitely a more physical league this time round compared to 2012/13.
Add in having big clubs like Falkirk and Dunfermline to play and it was always going to be a tricky league to gain promotion from. We can’t compete financially with those two especially with the crowds they get. Under 1,000 attendance at Palmerston yesterday I see…… shame as they missed a great victory.

Evening JR, spot on with regards to the level of ability of the other teams in league 1, it was a relatively easy ride the last time.
I'll actually be quite contentious here and suggest that we have a better squad this time round!
Now I'm sure that will set the cat amongst the pigeons, but JR is also spot on in saying that this time round we are not consistent enough and that is something that this squad needs to rectify PDQ.
Perhaps they lack self belief, but this is the reason for my frustration this season - we have a far better squad than last year,- hence why we should be neck and neck with Dunfermline, not performing brilliantly one week and half heartedly another.
Some people on this board have argued quite genuinely that perhaps the reason for the ups and downs is why the players are in League 1, but they are better than League 1 and they need to prove it by being consistent.
So, yes I'm being contentious by saying the squad are better than last time round, but I'm also throwing the gauntlet down to the players and asking them to prove how good they are and get us out of this league at the first time of asking.
They can also prove how good they are by giving high flying Morton the fright of their lives next week.
Come on Queens, you have all the ability, you just need to give 100 % effort every week, because League 1 is almost full of Championship standard clubs.

Sorry Jardi have to totally disagree that the current squad is better than the 12 - 13 one. Here is the line up on the night we won the title :- ROBINSON, MITCHELL, HOLT, DURNAN, HIGGINS, BURNS, McKENNA, PATON, CARMICHAEL, REILLY, CLARK

Substitutes :- ATKINSON, McGUFFIE, LYLE, YOUNG, GIBSON

Very few of the current squad would get into that team or even on the bench

OK, on seeing the squad on paper and considering their individual abilities I will gladly concede!
However, I still maintain that we have a better squad than last season, (while in the Championship) and that alone means we should be right up there challenging with Dunfermline.
I also believe that League 1 is far, far stronger than the last time we were there, but more importantly that the present squad have the ability to get out of this division. It is up to them to deliver.
