Well done Morocco and particular praise to the lad out of U2 who's played in goal!

Haha got to agree with that. I'm out of pocket a fair bit but actually happy they won't be stinking the tournament out with that dross any more!

Just spent a mad evening in the main square in Marrakesh. They absolutely believed they could shut out Spain and hit them on the break but were delighted with the pens. And boy can they celebrate, such joy on a massive scale. Looking forward to seeing them roll over the Portuguese now.

Can’t work out if Portugal were very good last night or the Swiss were dreadful, but they are suddenly the team to avoid - as long as Ronaldo stays on the bench, of course.

When I was looking through all the squads before the tournament it dawned on me just how many good players Portugal possess. Not only do a significant number of their squad play for top European teams, but in many cases they're key players for those teams, creatively or defensively.

Last night they clicked and the full power of that team was on show, perhaps for the first time, although it's ironic that the catalyst for this was the decision to drop their most famous player of all. Perhaps the baton has been passed and Portugal's brilliant new generation are about to do something surprising and special?
