What an awful performance. I’m sure Southgate would be happy with us playing across the back line for 90 minutes.
It was crying out for a Grealish or a Foden with some direct running but not for Mr Southgate.

That was terrible, the players looked heavy legged and uninterested, and we were rather lucky to have kept it at 0-0.
They looked pacy and always willing to try to play through us.
Our best bits came late on with the introduction of Grealish & Rashford. And the continued passing across the back between Maguire and Stones was/is absolutely pathetic.
That will give the likes of Wales hope now that they could actually beat us!.

Previous England managers would have given their right arm to have the attacking talent Southgate has at his disposal , only matched possibly by Brazil at this tournament .

100% Bob on assessment Animal. Tha could see after 35 mins that we had no intensity or energy oth on and off the ball and the Americans had the measure of us. We went in at aif time needing a reaction and a change. Instead we sleepwalked into that second half and by the time he made the changes it was too late to gain any momentum. The talent on that bench is frightening and a better manager would utilise it to the full.
