But nobody is going to tempt Wrexham players away with bigger offers. Not even L1 clubs. I'm sure they're pretty happy where they are, getting paid more and getting more publicity and attention than they'd get several divs higher.

Leicester paid (then) lowly Fleetwood £1 million for Jamie Vardy ten years ago, and I'd put Langstaff in the same bracket in terms of his potential to go to the top. And don't forget to add extra for inflation!
There aren't many players in that bracket, i.e. going from non-league to a top Premiership and England international striker, winning the league in the process. Macca is ace and will almost certainly be a decent Championship player, but I highly doubt he'll follow the same type of trajectory as Vardy. Would love to be proven wrong, of course - especially if we have a decent sell-on clause.

Speaking of sell-on clauses, anyone know what percentage we'd owe Gateshead?

Vardy is a PL player league mainly due to his exceptional pace, Langstaff doesn't have this pace.

Unpopular opinion but Notts should cash in on Langstaff as I'm not convinced, he's a £1m player, more a good player going through a freak run of form. Also, the way Notts play creates him so many chances, would another good striker be able to do the same?

Bostock is a blast from the past, Simon Jordan tried his best to keep him at Palace saying it would be better for his development. He went to Spurs and eventually dropped off a cliff, he was extremely rated at Palace as a youth player.
Notts won't be paying him £2.5k a week to come up from the NLN, be surprised if he's on more than £1.5k a week.

I think Scott would do well playing in a similar position to Macca.

Anything close to £1mill and we should sell.

He's a great player and its amazing having a natural scorer in the team but we could improve the whole squad a hell of a lot further with £1mill.

It'll also show other players that we can be a great stepping stone for them and won't stand in their way in progressing their own careers.

I also don't think he's ***** for us to gain promotion.

Bostock would be great for us, not sure why he hasn't found a league club yet.

Its hard to get excited about a journeyman signing, but if he's fit Bostock could be decent at this level. I remember him being fast and massive.
If he were any good surely, he would have been signed to a club.

His career has clearly been on a downwards trajectory for some time. He has the profile of the kind of fading 'name' player we used to sign under previous owners, and we know where that landed us. The current owners have specialised in spotting relatively unknown, upcoming talent from our own league or the leagues below, so I'd much prefer us to continue with that approach.

If I was going to try to make an argument for signing Bostock, I'd note that he turned down a new contract with Doncaster rather than being released, so they obviously made some effort to keep him, and if he does still have any hunger for the game then the way we play could just rekindle the talent he clearly showed in his younger days. It would be a risk - we don't want another Harry Arter situation - but this is where we probably need to trust the judgement of Luke Williams, who has seen him training.
