The ball was not out of play according to VAR and if it had been and the goal disallowed we probably would not have had an Asian team in the last 16. Can't have that, can we? FIFA's worldwide game without an Asian team in the knockout stage ----that must not be!

That's probably the defining reason behind that fraudulent decision Supersub6.

To be fair, we get this 'curvature of the ball' pantomime at every corner, when the ball can be placed outside the white line as long as the curvature is over the line. You can see the liners peering over to check, often if there is no liner the ref runs over to check it. Sadly just another of the many ways those charged with running the game contrive to ruin it.

An old friend of mine who is German and lives in Stuttgart rang me this morning to wish me all the best and arranged to meet me in Munich next week. He said the nation is in shock and advised me not to wear an England shirt next week.

Although I've seem 'em given, as they say, I agree with you Alfie, he quite deliberately put his leg out thus instigating the contact, amazingly neither VAR nor the ref fell for this con trick. I'm amazed that they didn't but fair dos, for once they got something right.
