Is Southgate having a laugh? Walker's getting skinned alive - get Trippier on NOW! England 2 v 0 up and OMG what a player Bellingham is.

Yes, BT, I'm sure that Gareth is having quite a good, happy laugh with 12 goals scored and just 2 against in 4 matches. First half was so boring until Pickford kept us in the game and we seemed to realise that we needed to score. Up to that point we had had 69% possession with 1 shot which was off target. Even in the seconnd half we went through a 35 minute period without one shot! Never mind, job done.

I'm struggling to see how Mbappe doesn't score against us. Stop him and we might win, but he looks too good for anyone in our defence.

I had this explained to me by the man himself! Andy Lochhead who used to be the hospitality guy up in the James Hargreaves Suite introduced me to Les and I just had to ask him the question. He knew Georgie always feinted to go on the outside but then suddenly nipped inside. Les just waited for Georgie boy to switch feet and then Les nailed him.

Southgate reminds me of how SD used to put loyalty to a player above brains. Walker was getting skinned alive down our left flank and Senegal could have easily been two up before we scored, but Southgate kept faith with the struggling player.

To compound matters, daft bollox who has an opinion on everything Gary Neville claims Walker is the only player in the world who can keep Mbappe under control.

    We will see.

Said before on another thread he did it in champions league, it’s all about the system the wide midfield offered no protection to Walker hence he’s under pressure and exploited

What I still wonder about that quarter final v France is not “why was Saka hooked?” but “why didn’t Rashford start?”

I wondered how Griezmann was left unmarked and how Maguire and Stones allowed Giroud to score with a free header from his cross.
