    Spot on about Bellingham!

But the feet of your central defenders… 🫣😬😱

For me it was the same old same old for much of that first half with Stones and Maguire being expected to ponderously instigate things. Then to my surprise and relief it was decided (by somebody) to abandon this hopeless strategy and at least show a bit more urgency and intent. And what a talent Bellingham is.

They have found a spark going forward with some nice play but our defence is still a worry. Senegal broke through on a couple of times and should have got at least one if not two but France and Mbappe will test them a lot more.

It went a bit dead after the third goal, too much passing back and keep ball; we could have had five or six against that lot.

Respect on Gareth now. We have a real good side at last. Bellingham wow what a player. England captain by 2026. Come on it’s only the French.

I think we’re playing “rope a dope” with opposition, inviting them on and then nicking the ball and breaking at ferocious speed.

Obviously not a plan because Southgate isn’t that clever and this trick normally involves the other side being the dopes rather than your own centre halves!
