Can't see why he would want the Belgium job, surely he's just running himself in at Burnley for a top European club in the next couple of years. Belgium might be interesting for him when he gets older, right now I'm sure he loves the day to day involvement of running a league club, doesn't he ?
On the other hand, might he not be thinking, 'the Belgium job doesn't come up often, give it a few years now, plenty of time to go back into club management afterwards'.

The process hardly works like that mom ami. Toes are dipped in the water; agents are sounded out and a lad who has been mentioned on here in the past is a bit of an expert on the Low Countries footy scene.
By his reckoning Belgium would like van Gaal to take over after the World Cup.
In my opinion it's too soon for a relatively young man to manage a national team and according to our "source" that seems to be the mood in Belgium.
I hope he's right and not you. Why all the pre-Christmas doom and gloom by the way?
