Long time since I heard this but a great song. 1966 not a bad year for music, aside from the Small Faces releasing their debut album The Beach boys put out "Pet Sounds", The Beatles " Revolver" and Dylan "Blonde on Blonde". In these days of Spotify and streaming the idea of artists/bands putting out albums seems something of a lost art.

This ain't 1966 but 1969 but still for me one of the great live vocal performances from the Tom Jones show.

Bit of a co-incidence you posting this as have recently been re-watching the Monterey Pop DVD where there is a shot of Mama Cass looking up in awe of Joplin's performance. Personally, I find some of her stuff a bit too "shouty" but there is no doubt about the power and emotion she invests in her singing and when -to me-she gets it right she was really very good. Read her biography a few years ago and she didn't have a very happy life though before she sadly joined the ranks of the 27 club.

A bit before my time but I’ve always loved that song.

Such a unique sound and such a well crafted song.

    You mention Mama Cass 😎

Without question a superstar of the 60’s, I loved her music when I was a young lad, boy could she sing.
