HMRC as as much use as t I t s on a nun.

I had an HMRC officer turn up at my home randomly about three years ago ( this is actually against protocol ) and although I’d just got back from my run I politely invited her in.

She was officious and standoffish with me, apparently we’d forgotten to pay HMRC our staff National Insurance and tax in a previous month.

My wife is fastidious about doing this and in 22 years had never missed a payment so I registered my surprise but was told it was not paid and “what are you going to do about it and when?”

She then checked her laptop again and found the payment had been received but they’d accounted for it wrongly in their system.

No apology and she turned on her heels and departed.

They are such a bunch of a r s e holes to deal with it’s no surprise they fail in recovery schemes like this because people can’t be bothered to help them.

It’s like Robin Hood.......a lot of people are happy for the rogue to have one over on the taxman.
