    Oxford United new ground

    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-...shire-63836207

Lease at Kassam expires in 2026, they are looking at sites to build a new ground.

Maybe a way to negotiate better rent or do owners have other ideas for land.

Ground is only 21 years old.

I get the impression that the club don’t really get on with the owners or security whichever won’t allow them in before a certain time on match day, we were locked out and Warne wasn’t impressed at all but they have a time when it’s unlocked and stick to it by looks

They need to move and get all four sides with corners aswell so we don’t freeze more than necessary

Oxford United were / are paying £1m a year rent for the Kassam Stadium, as Millertop said,
the club & owners of the ground don't see eye to eye.
I once looked at why the Kassam stadium has only 3 stands, the 4th was not built due to
the cost being £15m for the build of it.
Oxford United football club moved to the Kassam stadium, owned by Firoz Kassam, under the
    Firoka Group in 2001.
Oxford United's former ground the Old Manor Ground, was sold by Kassam in 2002 for £12m,
which a hospital was built on the land, called the Manor Hospital, a private hospital owned
    by Nuffield Health.
Oxford United are looking to get a 250 year lease off the council, who owns Stratford Brake,
on which stand Stratfield Brake sports club, the club hope to get the lease through, so they
can build a 18,000 seater stadium, a hotel, training ground, community sports ground,
    plus retail outlets.
The Firoka Group under Firoz Kassam will make another financial killing, selling the Kassam
Stadium land, like they did with the clubs old ground.

I can't think what makes you say that? It's working out perfectly for Coventry
