I don't have a phone. My camera is a Nikon D3400
Before the iphone what did you have? Im sure most had one of these.
No need to wait for the photos and new film to come through the post.

I'm still trying to master my Brownie 127!
The only time people used to take photos were when they were on holiday and at weddings.
Most of the pictures weren't the best quality and didn't do justice to the people and events.
Today everyday life is being filmed like never before.
I think it's wonderful.
I have a Nikon but just use my phone now.
Until I was given a second hand smart phone I always used a camera to take my photos. The Nikon coolpix was quite basic but ok and I have taken some nice pictures with it but you do seem to have to spend quite a bit of money on a decent camera and kit to take really good photos. In comparison, the quality of photographs you can take on most mobile phones now is very good and, because you tend to have them with you more, it is more likely you can take pictures of things you come across whether that is scenic or whatever. In the past I've often wished I had had a camera on me to capture a view or event.
My brother is a bit of a camera buff and has taken some really very good photos but he obviously inherited it from my dad's interest. I clearly remember as kids us helping him develop photos in his dark room and also making our own pin hole cameras. Still have some of the photos I took within mine somewhere. I also remember that there was a fad for having your photos out on slides at one point to be used in projectors?
I remember taking pics on my first proper camera an Olympus trip advertised by David Bailey. I would send my small tub of film to Truprint through the post and out of the 36 I would be lucky to get 6 decent snaps. Now we can take thousands of pics and delete the ones that are rubbish, the only downside is that they are all stored in the cloud and photos are far better in an album, but do we ever get round to printing them off?
