But their manager decided to revert back to the same owd steady as you go safety tactics.

A real funny game was that , I take your point YN but having got back to 2-2 and going to extra time the game changed back .

What I mean is the Argies weren't hanging on trying to run the clock down and they had to start playing football again which they had abandoned .

The Dutch tactics of hoofball may not have worked in extra time .

Van Gaal did what he had to do to get back into the game with the more direct tactics. Once they drew level the game changed as Animal has pointed out and the long ball tactics were no good.
