There was a time when Charlton could win a game 1-0 but that was in the days of a steely and clinical defence and winning mentality. No longer the case these days, so another disappointing but half expected loss to report as the team appears to be heading ever faster towards relegation. After Ben Garner's dismissal by Mr Saandgard, young Caretaker Manager Anthony Hayes has taken over until a permanent manager is appointed, hoping for a better result after the loss against Stockport in the FA Cup Wednesday last week.
Innis put Charlton ahead on 20 minutes in an improved first half display, but then was at fault for the 2 Bristol Rovers goals scored by Marquis in the 2nd half. The team subsequently fell apart after the first of the Marquis goals. It does make me wonder though why the Add1cks strikers are not doing better, compared to last season Stockley has lost form in this department.
Charlton goal: Inniss 20
Bristol Rovers goals: Marquis 61, 72
