what's the big issue with right back? We don't seem to be shipping many goals from that side of the pitch, and both 'out of position' occupants have proved damned good to my untrained eye.
I did say ‘make weight’, Swale. Clearly a striker who has never succeeded at anything higher than League One/Scottish level isn’t going to be any more than a small part of a deal involving any exchange for a player of Bielik’s quality.
There again it could all be nothing more than ‘paper’ - or whatever the DT calls itself these days - talk, but this is the sort of ‘wheeler dealing’ we have to specialise in these days.
P.S. Seems like it was just badly researched ‘paper talk’ as, having already played for Birmingham and Plymouth this season the EFL wouldn’t sanction a third move anyway.

rA posted a report from the DT where Cosgrove is mentioned as a "make weight". Just for the sake of argument, let's go on the premise that Bielik is worth £5M. Let's also say Cosgrove is worth £1.5M. That would mean we'd get £3.5M PLUS Cosgrove in exchange for Bielik. Nobody has mentioned Bielik/Cosgrove being a straight swap whu do you appear to think that?
Since joining Brum on Jan 31st 2021 he has had 71 appearances for Brum and also out on loan to the Shrews, the Wombles and the Gargoyles and has managed a massive 10 goals in that time. Now, I remember us signing Blackman on the back of 1 good season at Reading with the rest of his career being somewhat less than average. Are we so desperate to sign a striker that we'll risk another unproven journeyman? I hope not.
Maybe so but, a lesson from history, who you reluctantly but rightly mentioned yesterday: Kenny Butns. ‘Poor Man’s Bob Latchford’ turned double euro winning hardb*stard centre half, because he listened to The Dynamic Duo all those years ago. Maybe times have changed but surely players would rather play out of position than not play?
Totally agree Andy. However, that doesn't mean they are as happy to play there as they are saying publicly. If that's where the manager wants me to do a job.... all perfectly natural. In private, I would be surprised if both hadn't had a word in PW's shell-like to the effect of "happy to play anywhere but would prefer my natural role". Both missed a chunk of the season due to injury. Both will be happy to be playing and are probably also suffering from the guy with the shirt they may want not having done anything to lose it.
Speaking of which...what has happened to Andre Wisdom? Don’t think he’s signed for anyone since he left us 18 months ago.
I know some are understandably resistant to the idea of ‘returnees’, but imo he’d be a great January addition...well up to the physicality of League One...versatile enough to cover RB and CD...and presumably available on a free.
Maybe that unprovoked knife attack on him did more damage than we know of, I obviously wouldn’t know...but if he’s fit I’d snap him up.
