    January Transfer Window

What do you hope for and what do you expect?

Would you be disappointed if we don't acquire anyone?

What about if any acquisitions were clearly just 'cover'?

Who are you fearful might go? Who wouldn't you miss?

    What about Beilik?

Bielik to be sold to a Championship club which ISN'T Brum.

    Proper right back in.

    Cover/competition for Barks and NML.

Not sure of the current contract position of Knight and Bird. If they aren't going to sign new contracts (if they haven't already), get rid so we get some income otherwise we lose them in the summer for nowt.

Any more incoming, if any, would be no more than cover IMO.

Hope, and expect, us to make some meaningful additions particularly at right back and in midfield.
Both surprised and disappointed if we don’t strengthen.
‘Cover’ is crucial and something all good managers have to be conscious of. Not sure what the situation currently is re: goalkeepers.
Slightly concerned that Everton might want to reclaim Dobbin and that he might be unable to resist the lure of possible top flight opportunities. Wouldn’t want to lose Knight.
I really rate Bielik as a player and a presence but he is a fitness liability imo. Bit like certain luxury cars in the ‘80’s...lovely to look but always prone to an inconvenient breakdown so get rid sadly.

Don't expect much, its a difficult window, maybe we get 2 loans in to provide cover. Don't think thats a bad thing, as we ahve a strong team spirit and too many coming in could change that.

Can't really see Dobbin going back to Everton, he needs game time before he is ready for the prem and Lampard's under pressure, a youngster isn't going to help him!

Can't afford to sell Bird and Knight, potentially more valuable for them to stay in the team and go for free at the end of the season.

Bielik won't be back, his wages would mean equal any players we might bring in, which would restrict the ability to sign further additions to the squad, better he stays at Brum or even better we sell him.

Bielik. Apparently, his ratings for his appearances in Qatar were so brilliant (cough) he's been selected in the worst XI team.

Tbf...he’s in ‘good’ company. So were Bale and Ronaldo.

2 in it for diving and the 3rd for not diving?

Bielik can go - we can't afford to have a player so injury prone in such a pivotal position, taking up ***** funds.
I'm not bothered about Bird or Knight, but like Swale suggests they have value until the end of the season, so if they go, they would need replacing instantly.
I don't expect much, but if PW can do some wheeling and dealing then whoever he brings in will add something, even if it is just cover. I half expect him to bring in a player he's had before, just to have a different influence in the dressing room.

DT reporting that striker Sam Cosgrove - currently on loan at Plymouth and who did for us back in the autumn - could be used as a ‘make weight’ as part of a deal to enable Brum to sign Bielik. Just sayin’.

Did well at Aberdeen and is having a decent season at Plymouth but not really done much elsewhere. Thoughts?

That has been said not to be true. I'm not surprised, Bielik must be worth what £5 million? Have to be a bloody good league 1 striker for that!! I don't think Brum can afford him.

To be fair to the guy he has kept fit lately, but we cannot afford him on our current wages budget.
