I bit risky that fee lol. Here’s copied link.

Barnsley have agreed a deal in the region of £20,000 to sign Shamrock Rovers full back Barry Cotter.

Cotter (24) is out of favour with the Hoops and spent the second half of last season on loan with St Patrick’s Athletic, who were keen to make the deal permanent.

The Saints made a bid for his services but the Hoops were reluctant to do business with a rival in the same division. Cotter had thrived in his short stay at Inchicore.

UK clubs were alerted to Cotter’s availability and Barnsley have opted to take a low-cost punt on the former Ipswich player.

Cotter had a year left on his contract in Tallaght but has not been involved in pre-season as it was clear his future lay elsewhere.

Rovers will hold a sell on clause on Cotter as part of the Barnsley deal.

Ennis native Cotter joins a club that is pushing for promotion from League One.

TOMAS KALINAUSKAS JOINS FC DEN BOSCH

The Lithuanian international joins the Dutch side on a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old joined the Reds in 2021, before heading to AFC Wimbledon on loan in January of last year until the end of the 21/22 campaign.

In September 2022, Kalinauskas joined Havant & Waterlooville on loan, returning to South Yorkshire in December.

The attacker made his debut for the senior Lithuanian national team on September 25 in a Nations League match against Luxembourg.

Everyone at Oakwell wishes Tomas well for the future.

Den Bosch are one of Conway's clubs so good luck to the lad.

Under Conway they have sunk to 18th out of 20 in the Dutch second tier.

A Cust Cotter deal at £20,000 has a ring of truth abart it.

Unless we sell this is the pond we are fishing in.

He could be the next Roy Keane, Danny Blanchflower or Georgie Best and the shrewd, savvy Ahmad has swooped to grab a bargain.

Cotter looks good on YouTube - strong, quick with a great range of passing.

BTW - int it time for another thread to be started in relation to transfers ?
It’s a bit daunting having to scroll through over 100 posts looking for news on a particular player.

MAN UNITED PLAYER SET FOR OLD TRAFFORD EXIT AFTER FEATURING IN MATCH FOR EFL SIDE
Published 35 mins ago on 18 Jan.

Barnsley transfer target Charlie Wellens has played for the club in a behind closed-door game.

According to Alan Nixon, the full back appeared in a match against Mansfield Town ahead of a potential move to Oakwell.

Barnsley are interested in signing the Manchester United academy graduate, who has been unable to make a breakthrough into the first team at Old Trafford.

Wellens spent the first half of the season on loan with Oldham Athletic in the National League, making six appearances for the non-league side.
The defender’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, making an exit from United likely.

It is expected that Wellens will remain with Barnsley ahead of a potential move to the League One outfit.
With two weeks remaining in the winter window, the Tykes will be taking a closer look at the 20-year old as they weigh up signing the youngster.

The 24-year-old Irish right wing-back joined the Reds from Shamrock Rovers for an undisclosed fee on a three and a half year deal.

He is expected to provide back-up for Jordan Williams who has been the only right wing-back at the club this season, with other players occasionally having to play there out of position.

Well I reckon he’s a replacement for Williams and the young lad Wellens from Man Utd will be back-up for him.

The "undisclosed" fee is widely reported to be £20 K
