    Loan Player Costs?

I know I'm showing my age again...

I really don't agree with the loaning of players to other clubs. I mean why should some clubs be able to get say PL and Championship players which they will be signed to help them with promotion and relegation. Ditto some lower league club players going to the National League etc? If clubs cannot afford to sign players then hard luck, the league position is determined by that and before someone steps in. Having a Cat2 academy ought to reduce that possibility as what is the point of them if we are stopping them getting into the team when we sign others on loan. But my second point is this..

We read that we pay part or full wages costs of the loan players and why Wartman thought we would be sending all ours back to their clubs next week? LB says decisions will be made on the 2nd Jan 2023. My point is why we should pay anything in wages to these loan players when its their clubs that gain the benefit as they are not getting regular or in some cases any football and yet we are giving them games to gain experience and to keep fit etc. I do think we should pay their lodging accomodation while they are here and so cannot expect their clubs to pay that side. We never know what wages the players are on or even the non players and ditto the loan players but I suspect most are on a lot higher wages than here and so maybe we just pay a proportion but that is just a guess?

LB says there is money available for one or two players and so who would be coming here on our low wages and our league position? Hardly Roy of the Rovers!!!! I suspect it can only be loan players again? Why not get rid of all our players and sign all loan players in their place?

Mike I believe that in majority the clubs loaning players only pay a very small proportion of their salary. In general it is a scheme that benifits both parties/ The premiership clubs promising young players get the necessary league experience. and the lower league get the best of the current up and coming players that they could never sign. Usually the parent club keep a close eye on their loaned out players and look for significant improvements. So in most cases it is not just a coasting holiday for the loan players.

I have to say that I have seen a fair number who have been loaned to Championship clubs really puuting in impressive displays. Good for the clubs and good for the players.

Don't know the rule for certain MikeSB but I think that it is a maximum of 5 loans in a match day squad.

A much better idea would be to get rid of our 3 main coaches. What they are teaching and training our players is not football.

and there is another brilliant one liner from Lukcour. They really are catching on/

Hello my friend. Thanks for your comments and you make some good points. Its probably me seeing the unfairness of it when clubs can loan players to help other clubs with promotion and relegation. I tend to see differences like why are we playing in winter freezing conditions and yet have holidays in late May, June and July. That was ONLY done afaik to suit cricket which was a huge thing here in the UK. So lets change it hey? No wonder the main stand is quiet? You know in the old days you could hear the Alex crowd shout GOAL! miles away LOL. I really don't think we should be improving loan players and in some ways, it makes more sense for the lending club to pay a fee and all expenses as we are improving them in matches so so where they are not getting games in their own club.

I think I would do away with transfer windows and allow players to move anywhere at any time and that would do away with the loanees idea. Anyway, it seems unfair on the academy players when others come in to take their places.. Not just that..How many loan players have we signed these last few years that have been good and useful?

Happy new year to you and everyone else!

You know this is getting ridiculous when almost half your team can be loaness. How fair is that in promotion and relegation and will suit the richer clubs by far. No, I don't like it. I may make an exception for goalkeepers as they are so few and specialised. I certainly don't agree with GK coaches as you are born to be a GK and not trained. Think of the great GK's in the game in the past and even here at the Alex. The really bad ones we have had should not have got near the sticks!
