Of all the great British guitar players that emerged in the 60s -Clapton, Page, Green -Beck was very probably the most creative and technically proficient. Although I don't like all his stuff there is no denying his talent and 78 is no age really. By all accounts a nice bloke too. RIP Jeff. Another music legend lost to us.

Apparently he died as a result of contracting bacterial meningitis, a real killer that is. Some years ago, a neighbour’s daughter was killed by that disease at the age of 17, it was heartbreaking.
