    Sunderland v Swansea

    Sunderland v Swansea Sat 14 Jan 15:00

Last time we met at the Stadium of Light was 2016/2017 season in the PL where we won 2-0, Llorente & Naughton the scorers. Present England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was in goal for Sunderland and ex-Swan Fabio Borini up front.

Sunderland last 6 home W3 D0 L3, but they recently beat Millwall 3-0 and on Boxing Day beat Blackburn 2-1 in front of a 44k crowd. Leading scorer Ross Stewart has scored 5 goals in the last 5 games.

Swans last 6 away W0 D4 L2, dropping points with defensive errors the norm.
Swans won the corresponding home match 2-1 last October with goals from Cooper and Darling, clinching what was their third win in a week.

Three wins in a week a distant memory.
We’ll be lucky to get a draw up there, Sunderland are in top form, we are inconsistent and prone to defensive errors.

Tough one today boys, the Mackems are on a good run of form.
Darling for Wood the only change.

Swans: Steven Benda, Joel Latibeaudiere, Ben Cabango, Harry Darling, Ryan Manning, Jay Fulton, Joe Allen, Matt Grimes (c), Ollie Cooper, Liam Cullen, Joel Piroe
Subs: Andy Fisher, Olivier Ntcham, Luke Cundle, Nathan Wood, Kyle Naughton, Matty Sorinola, Cameron Congreve.*

    HT: 0 -0
    FT: Sunderland 1 (Neil 65’) - Swans 3 (Piroe 50’, Cullen 70’, Cooper 78’)
O’Nien sent off on 18’ for a bad foul on Cooper. Four Swans players booked. Poor defending for their goal.
We needed those three points badly after so many draws.
