A problem with a relatively quick thaw is that the turf is soft but sitting on ice soil so very unstable. It is affecting golf courses and some might be closed Wed or Thu because of this issue.

That supports my point more. I think given the forecast a 4pm inspection or 5pm at the latest gives most ample time to get to the game. As well as allowing the pitch to be properly assessed.

I’m going with it being postponed.

Presumably they do not have frost covers.

Haven't Solihul Moors got quite a few injuries? I'd imagine they'd be happy with a postponement.

Its going down to minus 5 tonight, there is no chance that game is going ahead. The grounds are still rock hard..

Match OFF. No surprise. Lots of people on Twitter saying it's 5c in Solihull, but if it was frozen on Saturday, it would need a couple of days of above 0 temps to thaw, frost covers and heat lamps or not. It was -3 overnight.

What is disappointing is that Notts asked Solihull yesterday to delay it until tomorrow and they refused.

2 and a half weeks without a league game is less than ideal. Reinforces how ludicrous it is to take up Saturdays with the FA Trophy.

This evening’s Vanarama National League trip to Solihull Moors has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

The referee inspected the surface at midday, an hour earlier than initially scheduled, and concluded that that there was no possibility of the game being played.

In anticipation of this outcome, on Monday we suggested to our opponents that the match could be moved to Wednesday but this was not met with their approval.

A rearranged date will be announced in due course, with refunds offered to ticket holders once this has been confirmed.

Our next match will now be on Saturday, when we host FC Halifax Town (3pm). Click here to get your ticket.

Given how ****e Solihull are supported, what we as fans could do is not pay them to attend and all watch on the NL stream. The money would go to Notts instead.
It’s not as though 1500 Solihull fans will make Notts players quake in there boots.

Deep joy, means we'll have to put up with the Rectum fans gloating about being top of the league and how they're going to be champions by March!! On the plus side we'll be level on games and still have to go to their place so still in ours and theirs hands even if the win tonight.
