    If he was on £25k+, now on <£10k, over next 5mths would have cost him over £300k in lost wages if he had seen out his contract at Norwich. Do we pay a sign on fee to cover this, or is it the security of a 3 year deal.

    At those figures I guess it's a choice of 650K over 6 months and then take a chance v 1.8M 'guaranteed' over 3.5 years. If I was looking at what potentially could be the last 3.5 years of my 'meaningful' earnings career I know which I'd plump for (but then again that's because I'm risk averse and probably why I'm still working in my 60s )

    A friend of mine told me a nominal fee for Hugill & the £10,000 wages stated are not correct.
