That certainly backfired on him when the Cove Rangers game on Saturday 17th December 2022 was cancelled because of frozen pipes in the Main Stand.
Hospitality was sold out for that game.
There was frozen pipes in all parts of the ground. Parts of the ground have been closed for this in the past e.g. the South Enclosure. It was so cold at that time that not only would the Derry have to be closed but also the Bobby Cox, the Shankly had it been required and of course the Main Stand. Therefore the game would have been off even if the heating had been on making the main stand available. Remember also we were not alone. Motherwell's home game on the same day was off for the same reasons and many games were off that day due to frozen pitches. Don't think the club deserves criticism for this particular event!

As long as the ref could see each goal from the centre circle the match should’ve been on…..apparently.

Aberdeen managed to play their home game on Saturday 17th December 2022 despite a lot heavier snowfall in Aberdeen and a 12.30pm kickoff due to their game being televised live on SKY Sports.
