I suppose if you ignore the cost of the Morrison contract for a moment it was lucky it happened with a week to go in the window because at least we had time to replace. If it had happened against Sheff Utd then we would have had to go with what we'd got. It will still be an 'ouch' for TS though!

A few other championship teams hit with injuries -

Millwall Fc. - The clubs promotion push as hit a snag, with on loan 22yr old midfielder Callum Styles [Barnsley]
being injured, the player has the same quad injury as Rotherham's Sean Morrison, & will be out for 3 month's.

Sunderland Fc. - Have lost 26yr old striker Ross Stewart for the season, due to a achilles injury, the player to
    undergo surgery next week.

What a shame, I really liked the look of this fella, I wish him well. Well done to the club for keeping this quiet until finding another player.

Wouldn`t that be covered on insurance?

Possibly but possibly not or possibly some of it! It depends what level of insurance they took out on him. With a short term deal with no sell on value they may have decided to take 'a flyer'! I guess Paul Douglas would be the man to ask. If the club insured every player for every possible injury then the premium surely would be astronomical. The exposure to risk is huge.

If there is insurance cover it will be to cover lost wages, plus with all insurance there will be an excess.

It’s usually done via a broker with a separate policy for each player

Bizarrely Cardiff City tried to insure Sala the day after he died

Obviously this is a huge blow for us but MT has stated in Tiser that just having Morrison around in the background dressing room training etc is going to be of huge benefit with his experience especially for the younger team members Bramhall Humphries etc glad he’s been kept involved of course his influence would be better on the pitch but this is the next best thing

Some on here absolutely hated it when Warne said stuff like that.
