    Run up to Final

We have 3 games, with our last game on the Sat before the final… so a full week to prepare.

Man Utd have 6 games, with their last a second leg against Barca 3 days before the final.

Not impressed by them tonight, not gonna be easy but this is it… it’s coming home 👍

Yeah, looks like he could me out till April into May, by todays reports, no chance of the final barring a miracle.

I know we are reliant on key players staying fit, but after tonight’s match they are one Rashford injury away from being f**king awful.

I sincerely hope you’re right. However just for discussion purposes they would have been encouraged by our 2nd half performance .For some time now,we have had a tendency to let our form drift in a match when we are in the ascendency. We certainly cannot let that happen against Manure.I was at the 76 final & thought we were overawed by the situation & the team we were playing against.I’m sure that won’t happen this time but we need our A game throughout. I’d luv it if we beat them……. Especially as I live in Manchester.

I was surprised by how poorly (relatively speaking) we played as an attacking force yesterday.

Can't put my finger on what went wrong. I'm not complaining, we restricted them to one decent chance, but I'm concerned that they were in the ascendancy in a way that didn't look like we were letting them, if that makes sense?

I'm sure nerves played a part and Southamptpn put in a much better shift, too, but we were sloppy in our passing and hit the ball out of defence more than I've seen us do for a while.

I know what you mean, think Wilson either needs a break now or Isak should start.

Also think we need to bring ASM into all the coming games a lot more, even if we don’t start with him, he’s a real threat and game changer… and I know we have Gordon who can come in with Bruno missing the next 3, but I would use those games to focus on ASM getting match fit and sharp, same with Isak.

Whether they start or not, we need them fully fit and sharp for the final… that is gonna be the killer… and an inform ASM would rip Wan-Bissaka two new ones every day of the week!

You mean after the first half hour surely? We were electric for those 30 minutes and they couldn’t handle us.
It is a little concerning how we deteriorated after that, though - complacency creeping in? Needs sorting and an inquiry into why Isak and ASM were so completely ineffective when they came on.

Bonus having Liverpool as our last game before the final....we can probably put out our reserves and still get 3 points

The commentators will be flummoxed not being able to call ManU "United" during the final.

Sorry, yes, I meant in the second half, really. We were so good in that first half that the turnaround after half time couldn't just be down to Southampton changing their formation and feeling emboldened after the goal.

There had to be something we did to contribute to that turnaround whether tactically or mentally.
