100% on the side of this never being a red card (or a foul in my view).

What I can't accept is the decision not to uphold appeal just a week or so after Nicky Clark's red card was successfully appealed for exactly the same type of decision. No consistency in appeal process

As others have said, look back at the Hearts game at Tannadice and the Gordon incident. A complete lack of consistency in VAR interpretation compared to the Edwards decision.

If VAR is inconsistent and appeals inconsistent it is hard to have any confidence at all in the system. Complete disregard for those who watch

United should tell the SFA to whistle for their percentage of the cost of VAR in my opinion. Put together a little video of all the shytey decisions that have cost us v1tal points this season and tell them to ram VAR up their arses!

Joke, Halliday is off balance and he over stretches, throwing his leg in at the last second, Edwards isn't off balance and doesn't change angle.
He doesn't start off that tackle with intent to hurt, he's just committed to a tackle that in real time Edwards was at least 70/30 to win.
Halliday positioning his leg where did meant VAR attained angles to make this look worse in slow mo than what it was.

And why the slow mo? Players think and act in real time, why can't refs and VAR

    Clear and obvious error... no

I know he was a right dirty ******* as a player but the Hearts manager didn't even this it was a red card. I don't think it should have been either

Amazing there is some debate here. It's not a red card end of.

    1. Did he clearly connect with the ball?
    2. Was the intent to play the ball or endanger the opposing player?
    3. Was the challenge from behind/the side?

The question here is what kind of game we want in Scotland moving forward. No contact tippy tappy like some other leagues/associations or a physical brand of football traditionally associated with us.

We can't compete on skill with the big leagues and I don't want Scottish football to just end up a cr@p version of what you can get elsewhere. I appreciate "good" football but the last few years I have become increasingly disinterested with the champions League, Spanish football, etc.

That challenge is not a red card in Scottish football and we should seek to preserve our brand in the face of increasing homogeneity. It will increase the value of our product longer term anyway.

Never a sending off as referee obviously thought aswell at time as he didn't blow for free kick but VAR showing slow motion and still pics made him change his mind when if he had any bottle would have just carried on with game . Now I was like most guys just waiting to see either the minks player doing same but we all seen Jack's tackle against St J , enough said

Not just them but Hearts as well,

Their player had one intention and that was to take out Liam Smith, just like Gordon intended to wipe out Fletcher.

Both shockers and worse than Edwards but no red,

Only thing VAR has done for Scottish football is to show how incompetent and useless our referees are. No wonder we never have any officials participating at the World Cup or European championships. Who is refereeing the game the one on the pitch or the one in the studio?

And, let's not get in to..... That all those officials, are not particularly friendly! So........ who's over-ruling who? Massive egos involved in there. Must be a VAR refs dream to pull up (ahem) 'the main man' for missing something. Internal conflict having impact on a simple gemme oh futba??? BIN IT.................
