We'll see on Saturday...in the old days a few pints after a full and frank meeting would probably have been considered a show of team bonding and spirit, I guess frapuccino and scones now the order of the day!
Here's one for you !
Popped in for a coffee at 5tarbucks Hamilton today (other coffee outlets are available). There were half a dozen of our 1st team squad in. No problem with that, but it seemed very raw 14hrs after our latest humiliation and you'd have thought there was a party going on. Loud, boisterous and iPhones clicking fotos of big smiles all round. Thought to myself ... do I say something and get things off my chest? Mulled it over, and arrived at the conclusion 'if you lot don't give a flying fork, then why should I?'
Any retorts of 'players need downtime' or 'they were on a day off work' ain't gonna wash, so don't go there

Or as Seib says....they just don't give a flying fork!!! Many of these guys know they will be moved on at the end of the season and will not really have to live with the consequences of their performances going into next season. Then on the other hand there will be individuals who must be frustrated at their consistent lack of game time, Ross Teirney for one.
We like most supporters often confuse lack of effort for in reality what is lack of quality that allows them to at least do the basics, ie finding a team mate with a simple pass.
One would think that some of the loan signings would think that here is a chance to impress and get a permanent deal? That's what I would be thinking. Not just the chance to pass another 6 months or so of an average career.
After the inept performances this season and the total embarrassment of Wednesday’s night gutless effort, if I was manager the last place this lot should be is out socialising. I would have had them in for training and issued them all with a sat nav showing them the way to goal, and how to pass a ball in a straight line to a team mate. Think a few of the players are fortunate we are away from home on Saturday because when we lose they won’t be savaged by as large a number of our fans as they would at Fir Park.
On the other hand they need to cross the line at 3pm tomorrow with a positive mindset and believe that they can win the game. If coffee and cake helps then fine by me.
Sieb - I’m not sure I could have shown the same restraint as you. I don’t think I could have resisted saying something like: “Hi guys, I’m a Motherwell fan. Can you please tell me if any of you care about our club?” I would really like to have heard what they said and the tone of voice they used.
