Thread: Time to go Hammell

The first St Johnstone goal was definitely not the left back's fault and I think giving the second yesterday to anyone other than Slattery is harsh in the extreme.

MFI wardrobes are more secure than our defence. Midfield couldn’t tackle a fish supper even if they had a knife and fork in their hands never mind tackle an opponent. I am 66 years of age and could make more telling runs into space than our current bunch of so called forwards. I would love the opportunity to question the players on their commitment to the club and the manager. Would also like to ask Hammell about his team selection and tactics and finally like to ask the people that are responsible for new signings, do they actually go and watch them prior to signing them. Do they check their fitness levels are in line with what is required in the Scottish game as I find it extremely strange the number of new signings who end up long term injured after a few games

By the way, please ditch the neon kit - if we're going to lose, at least do it with some claret & amber.

Thanks Skippy for the reminder of the result from Twickenham, plus the fact it's my 40th Anniversary today, so a couple of nicer things to take my mind off Fir Park. The champagne is in the fridge!!
Happy Anniversary WBTE. Enjoy the Champers 🍾

From a very reliable source it appears that several of the players ( including senior players) have lost all faith in Stevie Hammell as a manager. They have no faith in his tactics and training methods. It has been suggested that a number of senior players have approached members of the board with their concerns but nothing has been resolved. A number of the squad have now downed tools and don’t care what happens to the club or manager. If this is the case I know what my bet will be on Saturday odds of 2/1 Raith Rovers

That wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if that is indeed the case. It is clear that a number of players are merely going through the motions and also that the manager is out of his depth. That is literally the worst combination we could have right now because at a time we need to be fighting for our top flight lives we are barely whimpering towards the drop. With Burrows departure there is no obvious focal point of the board for the players to approach with concerns so it’s unlikely that any action will be taken any time soon.

The whole situation is gutting. We are a mess on and off the park and are freefalling towards the drop and no one is taking any sort of leadership to try and deal with it.

Totally agree and if you don’t have a leader on and off the park the only place we will be going is down I’m afraid. Any decent manager after the team’s lack of performance would have had them doing double training sessions after the St.Johnstone and Aberdeen games. If our guys are downing tools then the proof will be in the game against Raith on Saturday. As any other team facing opponents who have just gone to extra time and penalties would be going at them full throttle from the start and put them on the back foot. I fully expect on Saturday it to dethe other way round with us clearing our lines fromthe off by playing hoofball yet again
