Motherwell unable to withstand Aberdeen pressure

A much weakened Motherwell side were well beaten at Pittodrie. A consolation penalty was more than we deserved. - External Link

When you say a ‘much weakened side’ are you inferring the new recruits are even less useful than the statues who normally play?

Can't think of any of them that have come in looked like a standard that would make any improvement.
9 ineffective recruits is part of the problem.
Yes, the wage bill is an issue.
Don't you think for the same total outlay, looking for 3 or 4 at 2-3 times weekly salary might have brought in better quality or at least players that take better care of themselves so they aren't crocked within a week?

    Total shambles.

I submit that the loss of Carroll, McGinley, Mugabi, Blaney, Efford and Mandron must lead to a weakened team. As for the newbies, I guess the six(!) that failed to make the starting eleven are not yet up to speed.

Any new manager would have the same selection restrictions. None of that excuses the pathetic performances in recent weeks.

Some players have a lack of ability, but no professional player should ever lack effort and the required level of fitness. We have “players” who are out on their feet less than 60 minutes into a game. Certain players are showing no commitment to getting us out of our current predicament, in which case get them out of the team irrespective of their quality or stature within the team. Bring in the guys that are willing to give their all irrespective of age, experience because as it stands at the moment sticking with the status quo (other groups are available) certainly isn’t working.
